[edit] Welcome partner!
Welcome to this wiki and to our glorious future in advertising. ;-) —BigSmoke 21:21, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Thank you very much! MonkeyBoy
[edit] Ideas/ To do
- some category for "quality labels" and those kind of things
- same for terms being used like "unregulated direct ownership" (made category definitions MonkeyBoy 11:59, 12 March 2011 (UTC))
–MonkeyBoy 21:44, 11 March 2011
[edit] Linking to category pages
Why doesn't investment provider (edit page to see what i mean) work in category marketeer? I know it has something... –MonkeyBoy 02:58, 12 March 2011
- Leave it! I found the willpower to search on media wiki help :/
- http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Links#Internal_links (mediawiki help on format of internal and external links)
[[:Category:investment providers|investment provider]]- And to display the link tags but ignore the code I found: Disabling wikitext interpretation and/or reformatting on http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Advanced_editing#Disabling_wikitext_interpretation_and.2For_reformatting
- I even combined it with the piped link... sometimes i'm so good... yeah yeah –MonkeyBoy 03:43, 12 March 2011
- Clever indeed. Why are you so smart? –BigSmoke 10:20, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
[edit] “GIF.php not found” error
flor y fauna is a mess, page doesn't load –MonkeyBoy 03:06, 12 March 2011
- This was entirely my mistake. My upload command had a rule to exclude media/ dir (where uploaded files are stored). However, there's also a media/ subdir in includes/. That's where MW expected to find GIF.php. I changed to rule to exclude /media/ instead of just media/ and now a couple of missing files have been uploaded. –BigSmoke 10:20, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Signature
Does media wiki automatically adds a signature when you add a new section?
Obviously not, have to search again to not bother important busy occupied people with shit I should be able to find myself ;)
Done. Seems to be working nicely. :) MonkeyBoy

“Important busy people…” I like the sound of that (well, except maybe the busy part). –BigSmoke 13:30, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Enteties given newly created category not on main page
I added category:sales agents and category:marketeers. We probably need to include the entities within these categories somewhere on the main page.

Dude, If you want me to get a notification off a new topic on your talk page, it's best if you post it on my talk page instead of yours. The list of recent changes is growing so rapidly that I can no longer keep track of all changes globally. :-) –BigSmoke 18:57, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
Sir, yes sir! :p MonkeyBoy 12:13, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
Although, I realized that I could just as easily add your Discussion page to my watch-list (which I did, since we only seem to be talking to each other at the moment). –BigSmoke 12:37, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Internal link to .pdf file with different name
I don't seem to be able to create a link to a .pdf file with any title other than file:filename.pdf.
This is what I'm trying to got to work: File:Ethical Forestry and AJPVentures Acacia Brochure.pdf
Found out I should use [[:File:Ethical forestry and AJPVentures Acacia Brochure.pdf|this name]] MonkeyBoy 09:03, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Wow
Dude! Have I mentioned that you are a f-ing genius? Well, you are, and a productive one at that. :-) –BigSmoke 08:45, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Using semantic wiki to relate pages
Hey dude, is there a standard way to relate 2 or more pages to one-another in such a way as it is possible to automatically generate a 'see also' or even similar 'external links'? MonkeyBoy 15:43, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if I fully understand this question, so I'll try answering it tomorrow night. –BigSmoke 18:59, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
Oh, and another thing. Yesterday when I was editing a page, in the preview I saw it used the semantic wiki funtion to display countries mentioned in the text who had the Country::country tag, but it didn't show after saving the page. How come...? MonkeyBoy 15:50, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- Which page? –BigSmoke 18:59, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- Maderas Sostenibles/self-description, and I get the same result every time. It shows countries under facts in preview but not when saved. MonkeyBoy 08:53, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
- Same happens when editing other pages.
- Fixed, last week. :-) Now if I can get the damn thing to obey SMW_FACTBOX_NONEMPTY instead of always showing… –BigSmoke 12:39, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Strong/weak points
Dude, I forget what we decided to call the properties to describe strong and weak points. Was is pro/con, with some interesting categories for the different types of pros and cons? I forgot. –BigSmoke 19:02, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
Yes, Pro's and cons. Some suggestions for categories under cons: 'no proven results (return on investment for investors)', 'unrealistic claims', '(unregulated) direct ownership', 'off-shore', 'high-risk countries', 'non-indigenous tree species', 'unprofessional advertising', (possible) scam, unsubstantial/ unprofessional information, 'false claims on green, social or ethical' (showing in advertising to not understand the concepts), 'small scale/ too small', 'no track record' (in forestry or too short), (undesirable) 'short harvest cycle'. And under pro's: 'proven results' (return on investment for investors), 'Investment fund/ collective investment', 'indigenous tree species', within UK, EU, US, Canada etc, (seems to have) 'good intentions', 'professional/ clear/ information', 'regulated' (by financial authorities), 'large scale' (scale efficiency, 'track record/ experienced professional' (in forestry), 'realistic (long) harvest cycle', 'looks legitimate'.
Just some braindroppings MonkeyBoy 08:53, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Dutch user
Dude, Can you also create a user for the Dutch wiki? I want to ask you something that really belongs there instead of here… –BigSmoke 14:47, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
