Unrealistic projections

There's a large number of investment providers who project ridiculous returns. Sometimes, returns of up to 200% are presented as if they're the most natural thing in the world.

Well, let us share a little story with you. It's about the Dutch teak investment market. The story is told in the past tense because there no longer is a Dutch hardwood investment market to speak of. Due to these and other problems, all these investments, one by one, collapsed under the weight of the pyramid scheme that they represented.

Projects kept being adjusted from year to year as reality slowly caught up with projected fantasy.
